Clever knits and purls create a woven-like all over texture to this grab and go hat. The pattern offers 4 sizes and options for a classic beanie or cozy slouch. Of course there is always an option to top with a pom!

X-Small (Small, Medium, Large) 

DIMENSTIONS:
Approx 14.5 (17, 19.25, 22.5)”/36 (42, 48, 54) cm circumference x 6 (6.5, 6.75, 6.75)”/ 15 (16, 17, 17) cm for beanie version and 8.75 (9, 11.5, 11.5)”/ 22 (22.5, 29, 29) cm for slouch version

YARN:
RECOMMENDED: North Bay Fiber, Heritage (100% Targhee-Polypay; 150 yd / 137 m per 50 g); 1 (1, 1, 1) skein for beanie version and 1 (1, 2, 2) skein(s) for slouchy version.

OR: Heavy DK, Light Worsted Weight yarn in the following amounts:
• Beanie Version: 85 (107, 128, 150) yds / 77 (97, 116, 136) m
• Slouchy Version: 128 (156, 223, 260) yds/ 116 (142, 203, 236) m

GAUGE:
20 sts x 26 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in pattern, worked in the round, and blocked

NEEDLES:
Needles listed are suggested. Always take time to swatch.
• Gauge Needle: Size US 6 (4.0 mm) 16"/40cm circular needles and DPNs—or size necessary to obtain gauge
• Smaller Needle: Size US 3 (3.25 mm) 16"/40 cm circular needles — or one three sizes smaller than gauge needle 

TOOLS:
Stitch markers (4), tapestry needle, and optional pom pom

NOTES:
• Hat is worked in the round from the bottom up.
• The 6 st pattern repeat chart is for sizes 1 & 3. The 7 st pattern repeat is for sizes 2 & 4. Each of the 4 sizes has it’s own chart for crown shaping.
• The crown shaping chart is repeated 4x for each round.
